Abstract: Some results are reported of a calculation of the characteristics of subnanosecond neodymium-glass laser with periodic Q-switching of the resonator. The calculated characteristics are in good agreement with those found experimentally. It is shown that for a certain type of control of the depth of Q-switching in a laser with a nonlinear absorber one can expect a reduction in the pulse duration to 0.01–0.1 nsec.
