Abstract:
Measurements were made of the relationship between the duration of the luminescence observed when an NaCl particle passed through a focused CO2 laser radiation beam (Ps~104 W/cm2) and the particle residence time in the focal zone. It was found that the flash duration was appreciably (4–10 times) shorter than the time taken for a particle to pass through the focal zone. Measurements were made of the luminescence intensity distribution in the 413–822 nm range and some other characteristics of the luminescence were determined.
