Amplification of radiation due to xenon ion transitions in the plasmadynamic regime

Abstract: An experimental investigation was made of the amplifying properties of a supersonic jet of a highly ionized xenon plasma. A new method was proposed for measuring the radiation gain. Amplification was obtained due to xenon ion transitions with wavelengths of 541.9 and 497.3 nm.
