Model of a nitrogen laser pumped by a relativistic electron beam

T. I. Bashmakova, I. I. Magda
Abstract: A system of equations describing the heating of a high-pressure gas by a high-current relativistic electron beam is solved numerically, together with a system describing a nitrogen molecular pulse laser. Quasilinear theory of the dissipation of the electron beam energy in a dense gas is used. Optimal pumping conditions are considered. The results predicted by the model are compared with the experimental data.
