Nonreciprocity in acoustooptic modulators utilizing traveling acoustic waves
L. S. Kornienko, N. V. Naniĭ, O. E. Nanii
Abstract:
The method of successive approximations in the theory of coupled waves is used to calculate the dependences of the amplitude and phase nonreciprocity of acoustooptic modulators on the angle of incidence of a light wave. No restrictions are placed on the size of the interaction region. The modulator parameters optimal from the point of view of suppression of the phase nonreciprocity are identified. A method is suggested for a considerable enhancement of the phase and amplitude nonreciprocities as a result of the acoustooptic interaction.
