Passive Q switching of a 1.3-μm laser resonator using a stimulated Brillouin scattering mirror

Abstract:
A pulse-periodic 1.3-μm laser was developed with passive Q switching of the resonator using an intracavity stimulated Brillouin scattering process. Characteristics of the lasing dynamics and the energy, temporal, and spectral characteristics were studied.
