Neodymium glass sweep laser with electronic control of the emission kinetics and spectrum
V. I. Kravchenko, V. V. Taranov
Abstract:
A description is given of a neodymium glass sweep laser with an acoustooptic deflector-modulator in a dispersive resonator and its spectral-kinetic characteristics are described. Experiments indicated that the active switching of the Q factor of the resonator, performed simultaneously with the sweep, made it possible to increase the efficiency and stability of regular lasing at high pumping rates and high sweep rates. Dynamic electronic tuning of the emission wavelength was achieved over an interval of 20 nm when the width of the spectrum of a single spike did not exceed 6 pm. Practical applications of electronically controlled sweep lasers in laser technology and spectrometry are discussed.
