Abstract:
Phototropic switches were made from dye-activated "dry" and liquid-impregnated microporous quartz glass. An experimental investigation of neodymium glass and garnet lasers with switches of this type demonstrated that their use made it possible to increase considerably the reproducibility of the laser output parameters in the mode-locking regime, to improve the spatial distribution of the output radiation, and to allow operation of the lasers in the pulse-periodic regime.
