Abstract:
Laser emission in the visible and infrared parts of the spectrum was obtained as a result of pulse discharges in barium vapor at repetition frequencies up to 15 kHz. The laser action in the visible region was due to transitions from a resonance to a metastable level in Ba II and was observed for the first time. The average output power in infrared was 0.4 W.
