Angular distribution patterns of thick-film holograms

N. M. Pomerantsev
Abstract: The dependence of the diffraction efficiency of thick-film phase holograms on the spatial frequency of the object being holographed is considered theoretically. The angular distribution patterns are constructed. It is found that the angular distribution due to the hologram itself consists of several lobes. The number of these lobes increases with the thickness of the hologram, the relative change in the refractive index, and the angle of incidence of the reference wave on the photosensitive film.
