Dynamics of intense short pulses in a waveguide

Abstract:
A proposed nonlinear modification of high-power pulses in a fiber waveguide is considered using exact analytic solutions of equations of nonlinear geometric optics. It is shown that dynamic stabilization of a pulse and its accelerated self-narrowing are possible if the initial frequency modulation is specially selected.
