Stanislav S. Makhanov received MS in Applied Mathematics from Moscow State University in 1981 and PhD from Computing Center of the Russian Academy of Science in 1988, where he worked as an Assistant- Associate Professor until 1993. In 1994-1999 he was a Visiting Professor with King Mongkuts Institute of Technology of Thailand. Dr. Makhanov joined Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University of Thailand in 1999. He is currently a Full Professor and a Head of the Center of Excellency in Biomedical Engineering. He is teaching courses in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. His research interests are medical image processing and robotics.
