Subject:

mathematical models of non-linear wave processes, theory of non-linear differential equations, solitons in condensed matter, mathematical models in biology

Biography

Experienced in non-linear mathematics and mechanics, mathematical physics, theory of non-linear waves in condensed matter, theory of non-linear differential equations, non-linear elasticity, non-linear acoustics, numerical analysis. Published more than 90 papers in peer-reviewed journals, more than 120 papers in conference proceedings and 5 certified inventions (patents); developed the mathematical theory of non-linear strain waves in elastic wave guides and on surfaces. Predicted the existence and amplification of strain solitons, initiated and lead the pioneering experiments for their generation in solids, in which solitons were discovered, and therefore, the deformation energy transfer in highly dispersive and dissipative wave guides was proved. Proposed the new approach to finding exact explicit travelling wave solutions for general non-linear equations with dispersion, diffusion and dissipation, obtained some new solutions for the general Lie equation, the non-linear reaction-diffusion, KdV-Burgers and dissipative double dispersive equations. Patented new devices for generation and focusing of weak shocks and solitons in transparent elastic solids.

Languages: English (fluent), German (adequate communication), Russian (native).
