Abstract:
We review E M Lifshitz's work on gravity and cosmology and discuss later work by others who drew on his ideas. The major topics covered include the stochastic cosmology of an anisotropic universe and of an isotropic scalar field universe, the quasi-isotropic (gradient) expansion in cosmology, and Horava–Lifshitz gravity and cosmology.
