Abstract:
The features in the spectrum of a relativistic bound system in a quasipotential well with barrier are investigated. It is found that in contrast to a nonrelativistic equation the quasipotential equation gives a state spectrum whose first radial excitation can be much heavier than the ground state. This suggests a possible qualitative explanation of the fact that, for example, an excited electron is not observed in experiments at the currently attained accelerator energies.
