Abstract: An exact evolution equation for the electron distribution function obtained by the projection operator method is used to investigate the kinetics of electrons that interact with randomly distributed scattering centers and an external electric field. An evolution equation is obtained for the distribution function in the case of weak scattering of the electrons; this contains terms of non-Markov form. A solution of this equation describing the effects of weak localization for degenerate and nondegenerate electron gases is found.
