Abstract: Influence of symmetry preserving defects on kinks dynamics in one-dimensional scalar $\varphi^4$-model is investigated. The change of kinks shape, conditions of their pinning and behaviour of susceptibility and scattering function for defects in the regimes of fast and slow relaxation are considered.
