On the controllability of elastic oscillations of serially connected objects with distributed parameters

Abstract:
The problem of damping oscillations of $m$ serially connected strings is solved. An object with lumped parameters is attached to the system at one of the connection points; this object is used to damp the oscillations of the system is carried.
