Enzymic methods of resolving racemates of amino acids and their derivatives

M. A. Verkhovskaya, I. A. Yamskov

Institute of the USSR Academy of Nutrients, Moscow
Abstract: The review is devoted to modern methods for resolving racemates of amino acids and their derivatives by the action of enzymes. Processes of enantioselective enzymic hydrolysis are considered for both C- (esters, amides, amino acid nitrites) and N-derivatives (acyl- and alkoxycarbonylamino acids) as well as for their cyclic derivatives. Examples are given of the catalytic preparation of optically active derivatives from racemic amino acids. The bibliography includes 119 references.
