Abstract: The literature data on the anomalies in the rheological properties of binary polymer systems, expressed as the increase in their viscosity characteristics, are examined and surveyed in the present review. The known hypotheses and theories of the anomalous changes in viscosity are analysed and an attempt is made to relate the concentration and temperature variations of the viscosities of binary polymer blends to their phase organisation.
