Abstract:
Precision diffraction methods for the investigation of the electron density, electrostatic potential, and dynamics of crystal lattices are described. Data concerning the fine details of the chemical bonds in compounds of various classes obtained with their aid are discussed. The forms in which the data on the distribution of electron density and electrostatic potential in crystals can be represented and interpreted are examined. The bibliography includes 96 references.
