Advances in the Synthesis and Manufacture of α-Aminoacids

E. N. Safonova, V. M. Belikov

A. N. Nesmeyanov Institute of Organoelement Compounds, USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract: The review deals with the existing industrial chemical methods for the manufacture of aminoacids as well as new methods and new versions of the existing methods for their synthesis. Much attention has been devoted to methods of asymmetric synthesis of aminoacids, including homogeneous asymmetric hydrogenation. Enzymatic methods for the synthesis of certain aminoacids from chemical raw materials are examined. The literature of the last 7–8 years is mainly considered.
The bibliography includes 385 references.
