E. G. Rozantsev, V. D. Sholle Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract:
Methods of obtaining nitroxyl radicals by the dehydrogenation of hydroxylamines, oxidation of amines, reduction of nitro and nitroso-compounds and radical addition to nitrones are considered. Problems of the stability of nitroxyl radicals and their reactivity are discussed – redox reactions, radical reactions, complex formation, and reaction without use of the unpaired electron. There is a bibliography of 283 references.
