Abstract: The results of theoretical and experimental studies of the molecular structure of the oxides of boron and aluminium X2O3, X2O2, X2O, and XO2 (X = B, Al), carried out mainly by spectroscopic methods using matrix-isolation techniques, and also by quantum-mechanical calculations, have been reviewed. The bibliography includes 70 references.
