Abstract:
A description is given of a single-frequency dye laser in which the pump radiation is converted at an efficiency of 30% and which is characterized by a spectral power density of $10^{10}$ W/nm. Single-frequency emission is achieved by injection of 0.1 mW $He-Ne$ laser radiation whose spectrum contains three longitudinal modes. The principal results are given of experimental investigations of the energy and spectral characteristics of the system. An analysis is made of the feasibility of constructing a tunable laser with similar parameters.
