Some features of data storage in and retrieval from lithium niobate

Abstract:
An investigation was made of the noise exhibited by doped lithium niobate crystals in hologram recording and reconstruction. Reflection holograms were found to be superior to transmission holograms. The results obtained made it possible to optimize the conditions for hologram recording in and reconstruction from lithium niobate crystals and thus increased the readout time without destroying the recorded data.
