Optical data storage in cadmium sulfide

Optical data storage in cadmium sulfide was investigated. The stored data could be read photoelectrically and optically. Experiments involving recording and reading "photoelectric images" were made on Cd- and Cu-doped CdS films. Moreover, volume holograms were recorded and reconstructed using single crystals of the same material. Some parameters of the photoelectric and optical memories were determined.
