Abstract:
An investigation was made of the possibility of using Raman-induced Kerr effect spectroscopy for diagnostics of water basins. It is reported that temperatures can be deduced from deformation of the band of valence vibrations of water and that small amounts of water-dissolved hydrocarbons can be detected and identified using the lines of the C–H valence vibrations in the range 2800–3000 cm–1 .
