Determination of the elastic and elasto-optic constants and extinction coefficients of the laser glasses LGS-247-2, LGS- 250-3, LGS-I, and KGSS-1621 by the Brillouin scattering technique

Abstract:
The technique of Brillouin scattering at λ =488 nm was applied to determine the longitudinal and transverse hypersonic velocities, Young's moduli, shear moduli, Poisson ratios, elasto-optic constants p11 and p12, and extinction coefficients of the potentially useful laser glasses LGS-247-2, LGS-250-3, LGS-I, and KGSS-1621.
