Abstract: A description is given of a gasdynamic laser in which nitrogen is heated by a resistance heater and vibrational CO2 levels are excited selectively in the mixing zone of a supersonic stream. The experimental results demonstrate the possibility of two-stage expansion with intermediate deceleration of the active medium.
