Nonlinear attenuation of pulsed laser radiation in a ground path in the atmosphere

Abstract:
A study was made of the propagation of strong pulsed CO2 laser radiation along a ground atmospheric path. A mechanism is proposed to account for the anomalous attenuation of the radiation during a pulse.
