Dynamics of the population of the vibrationai levels of the CO molecule in the active medium of a pulsed electron-beam-controlled CO laser

Abstract:
Typical excitation conditions in a pulsed electron-beam-controlled CO laser were studied and the times for attaining a fixed unsaturated absorption level due to different vibrationai transitions of the CO molecule were determined. These times were compared with those calculated by varying the values of the short- and long-range components of the vibrational–vibrational (VV) exchange constant. The values of these constants were then refined.
