Determination of the characteristics of diffused channel waveguides in LiNbO3

K. S. Buritskiĭ, E. M. Zolotov, A. M. Prokhorov, V. A. Chernykh
Abstract: The characteristics of channel waveguides formed by the diffusion of titanium in LiNbO3 are determined from the spectrum of effective values of the refractive index. It is found that the effective refractive index method can be used in practice to investigate channel waveguides fabricated by two-dimensional diffusion. The refractive index distribution profile is obtained for a planar Ti-diffused waveguide in LiNbO3 (z-cut).
