Experimental investigation of vacuum ultraviolet emission from Kr and Xe rare gases in a high-power high-pressure pulsed microwave discharge

Abstract: The results are reported of the first experimental investigation of vacuum ultraviolet emission from Kr and Xe rare gases in a high-power (~ 107 W/cm3) pulsed microwave discharge at pressures up to 10 atm. Narrowing of the spectral profile of the krypton dimer occurs at a pumping rate of ~ 7 MW/cm3 when the gas pressure is 5 atm.
