Abstract:
Calculations are reported of two-dimensional flow of singlet oxygen in a planar nozzle with iodine injection through a side-wall slit. The distribution of the inversion characteristics over the nozzle cross section is determined. It is shown that the injection of iodine is followed by very rapid dissociation and the energy characteristics of oxygen–iodine systems are governed by the mixing rate. It follows from the results obtained that blowing iodine through perforations of the nozzle side walls offers a greater promise than slit injection.
