Abstract:
An analysis is made of the feasibility of pulsed lasing in an H2–F2 laser as a result of thermal dissociation of specially selected RF fluoride molecules. Calculations are used to obtain the dissociation rate constants of RF molecules required for efficient implementation of the proposed operating regime of an H2–F2 laser and various suitable molecules are found. It is found that high values of the specific output energy and the quantum eflSciency of lasing can be achieved in an H2–F2 laser utilizing the hydrogen fluorination chain reaction with a thermal branching mechanism.
