Possibility of optical wavefront reversal with the aid of liquid-crystal transparencies

Abstract: An analysis is made of the mechanism of operation of an optically controlled liquid-crystal transparency with a semiconducting photosensitive layer, and of ways of increasing its modulation efficiency. Feasibility of wavefront reversal with the aid of low-power cw lasers is considered in the case when such a transparency is used as a thin-film dynamic hologram.
