Investigation of the interference of light emitted from a diffused waveguide

Abstract:
An analysis is made of the emission of light from a diffused waveguide. Equations are derived which take into account interference modulation of the mode–leaky wave coupling coefficient. Conditions when reflection of leaky waves from the distributed waveguide boundary has a substantial influence on the emission process are determined. An investigation is made of approximate methods and recommendations are given on their use.
