Abstract:
A two-mode gas laser having an anisotropic resonator and placed in constant transverse and longitudinal magnetic fields was investigated theoretically and experimentally. Different laser transitions were used in a study of the behavior of the basic lasing characteristics as a function of the magnitude and orientation of the magnetic field. It was found that in a transverse magnetic field a stable two-mode lasing regime could be realized for any value of the intermode spacing.
