Investigation of the efficiency of a nondegenerate four-wave interaction

Abstract: Reversal of a weak signal wave, shifted on the frequency scale relative to the frequencies of reference waves, was observed in the case of a four-wave interaction in liquid carbon disulfide. The dependence of the reflection coefficient of the signal wave on the frequency shift was determined. A signal wave of low intensity, shifted along the frequency scale, was observed in an auxiliary cell under stimulated Brillouin scattering conditions.
