Simplified thermal analysis of a laser diode array

W. Nakwaski
Full-text PDF (498 kB) Citations (4)
Abstract: A simplified analysis is made of the propagation of a heat flux in a heat sink used to cool an array of laser diodes. Approximate formulas are obtained for the thermal resistance encountered by an expanding heat flux traveling in the sink. The conditions are formulated for the pulsed operation of the diode array when the thermal interaction of neighboring diodes is unimportant.
