Intracavity second-harmonic generation in a mode-locked laser with an optical delay line

Abstract:
An experimental investigation was made of a mode-locked garnet laser with intracavity second-harmonic generation. The peak power of the ultrashort pulses was improved appreciably and the intracavity second-harmonic generation efficiency was enhanced by increasing the effective resonator length using an afocal optical delay line.
