Control of laser radiation parameters

Stabilization of the output power of a cw laser by the thermal lens effect

A. I. Larkin, Yu. A. Mironov, V. M. Petropavlovskiĭ

Moscow Engineering Physics Institute
Abstract: A simple and inexpensive method is proposed for stabilization of the output radiation power of a cw laser based on the thermal self-defocusing effect. An expression is derived for calculating parameters of a stabilization cell and experimental results obtained in a study of power stabilization are reported.
