Investigation of the homogeneity of magnetic fields in atomic-beam radiofrequency spectroscopes

V. K. Kurakin, V. M. Purto
Abstract: A theoretical analysis is given of two systems of current-carrying frames used to generate the working magnetic field in atomic-beam spectroscopes with double-pole separators. Equivalent systems of frames are derived. An estimate is made of the homogeneity of the magnetic field generated by a system comprising two current-carrying frames and a magnetic screen. The results of numerical optimization of the parameters of this system are reported.
