Abstract: An investigation was made of a pulsed nitrogen laser, pumped by a transverse electric discharge and emitting at λ = 3371 Å. A high-permittivity ceramic strip line was used in the power supply system. The highest peak power was 23 kW for a discharge of 15 cm active length. The output power and the optimal pressure rose when the voltage across the discharge gap was increased. Under a constant voltage the resistance of the laser plasma increased linearly with increasing pressure of the working gas.
