Influence of waveguide properties of heterojunction layers on the principal characteristics of injection lasers

S. N. Stolyarov
Abstract: An absorbing Epstein layer model is used to calculate the threshold currents of injection lasers and the angular distributions of the output radiation as a function of the waveguide properties of the active region. The conditions for the excitation of higher-order modes are determined.
