Fluctuations of the radiation intensity of an He-Cd laser

V. M. Gelikonov, Yu. I. Zaĭtsev
Abstract: An experimental investigation was made of the fluctuations of the output radiation intensity of an He-Cd laser. From a study of the spectra of the intensity and discharge-current fluctuatians, and an analysis of their mutual spectra under different operating conditions with the laser emitting at 0.44 and 0.63 μ (by replacing the Cd by Ne), conclusions were drawn regarding the character, origin, and characteristics of the noise mechanism.
