Abstract:
A laser output energy of 9 J was obtained from the D'–A' transition in the Br2 molecule (λ ≈ 0.292 μm) by pumping with broad band radiation from a high-current segmented surface discharge. The spectral and power characteristics of the laser were determined. The laser output power was limited by kinetic processes in the active medium. The technological features of the laser construction were analyzed.
