Films of Mn0.75Ti0.25Bi as a magnetooptic storage medium

Abstract: Magnetic interferograms were recorded in Mn0.75Ti0.25Bi films and their performance characteristics were investigated. The energy threshold of the recording process was one third the value of MnBi films, the dynamic energy range was 8 times wider, but the diffraction efficiency was 5 times less. The ternary films can be recommended for use in those cases when the reading efficiency requirements are not too stringent, for example, in the recording of point patterns and of holograms with a low volume of information.
