Control of radiation parameters

Controlled reflection of far-infrared waves from the surface of a semiconductor in a magnetic field

I. D. Bagbaya, I. N. Sisakyan, A. B. Shvartsburg
Abstract: It is shown that modulation of far-infrared waves is possible by reflection from the surface of a semiconductor (n-type InSb) the electron temperature of which is varied by a heating electric field. The regions of monotonic and bistable dependence of the reflection coefficient of such waves on the electron temperature are identified. The fast response of nonlinear reflection of waves and a considerable role of external magnetic fields in such reflection are noted.
